Post DHAP Chemo update

We`re 4 days past my 2 day chemo regimen of DHAP. It`s gone better than I expected in some ways. I`ve been able to keep the nausea minimal with an array of magic pills that were prescribed so that's nice. However, part of this chemo regime does include more steroid which I have a really hard time with...jittery, can`t sleep (even with anti anxiety and sleeping pills)...This makes for a very tired jittery mama. The fatigue is my biggest problem this round...I feel like I`ve been kicked in the but. Days 5-14 will likely be the hardest as my counts will be there lowest. Overall, I shouldn't`t complain...at least I am able to be out of bed.
I have more scans scheduled for July 5th to see how the tumor(s) have responded to the new chemo and to decide if there will be more rounds or if we will go right into the stem cell transplant from here. Till then I will enjoy the ``break``.
I hope to go on our annual camping trip to Wilmington as long as my counts are good over the July long weekend. It`s nice to have this to look forward to.
We`re also hoping to have Olivia`s bday party a few weeks early since her birthday will likely be during the transplant - must get planning that...
The girls are doing great. They aren`t too affected by all this yet. They are SO lucky to have so many people helping us love and look after them. I thank everyone.
Also, another thank you for this weeks treats - cards, calls little gift bags for mama - love the trashy mag diversions :)
Anyway - will keep posting, please keep reading!
Love the O`Neil`s xoxo
